A native of upstate NY, I migrated to Kansas City in 1993 and as of 2010 have now relocated to New Jersey, my wife's home state. I have been playing the bass since I was twelve years old, after I first fell in love with the music of my older brother and sisters. Brought up in a diverse, music-loving family, I was exposed to a wide variety of styles which ranged from the Big Band era to the smooth silk of Motown, the Supremes and the Temptations and on to the British Invasion of the Beatles, the Stones, and the Who.
I became interested in the bass after hearing Paul McCartney's bass lines. Later, my influences broadened to include John Entwistle of the Who, James Jamerson of the Funk Brothers, John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, and Larry Graham of Sly and the Family Stone. I appreciate the simple melodic sound of Adam Clayton of U2 and aspire to be as funky as Flea of the Chili Peppers.
I was saved at the age of twelve at a revival meeting in Avoca, NY held at my home church, Avoca Baptist Church. I am a work in progress when it comes to my spiritual walk. Each day I am learning more and more to totally rely on Jesus Christ. I refuse to carry my burdens; I am learning to lay them at His feet. Whenever I am tempted to stress out over circumstances out of my control, I remember these simple phrases: "Peace be still...o, ye of little faith."
My passion is to bring down the walls that block out diversity and divide Bible believing churches. I feel strongly that the Church needs to be a Universal Body united by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In October of 2008, I married Jennifer, a true Jersey girl who loves the Lord. Jennifer's the best thing that has ever happened to me. She is like all my favorite holidays all wrapped in one wonderful package. She plays a vital role in the band by being so supportive. She has helped vocally as well as letting us rehearse at our home. She has been very patient and is our cheerleader. She is also the band's photographer.
